Merchant Center suspended for Misrepresentation: what Google is actually looking at

Misrepresentation is Google's catch-all account suspension. The notice names the policy and nothing else. In practice it is triggered by a short list of store-level problems that Google's reviewers and automated systems look for, most of them about whether the business behind the store is identifiable and honest.

What usually causes it

How to fix it

  1. Put the business name, address and a real email on the footer and contact page, and make them match Merchant Center.
  2. Rewrite the refund and shipping policies with real windows, conditions and delivery times.
  3. Remove urgency apps and fake badges; clear compare-at prices that were never charged.
  4. Write a real About page.
  5. Wait a day for the re-crawl, then request review once.
Takes about 30 seconds. We read the public pages any reviewer reads: home, contact, about, policies and a sample of products.
